How to remove SAFE from Audi blackpunkt radio. I?

Hi Ive got a 1999 Audi blackpunkt radio cassette player with SAFE mode displayed. Pls how do I get it out. I have tried pressing the AS for minutes with ignition on before switching radio on and still no beep heard and safe remains.
