I had problems with one of these a while ago and was on my fourth new starter before it was fixed, bad batch?cheap crap?who knows but learnt a lesson to get as good a starter as possible, that is not to say that is your problem and not sure what the noise is from the battery you are hearing,I know there are a lot of problems with ign, switches on these, but if all you are hearing is a click then would have another look at your starter, good luck
