was told sat nav was working i cannot get dic to read
does it tell you in system history when satnav was last
running before disc error poped up
bought a new disc still wont run

I have stripped mine down, cleaned it out completely but still have the same problem - dvd disc is reading an error anyone know where I can get a laser replacement?

Hi this is andy i dont charge £150 to just clean the lens i strip the whole unit down i clean all of dvd mech and re grease all of the moving parts and i do the same with the cd mech aswell then i clean the unit as i put it all back together ive done over 300 of the crv units. and ive repaired about 50 units where people have used a ruler and a baby wipe and they have caused more damage to the unit please dont do this.

Hello people... I've had the same problem "DVD disc reading error" I've tried cleaning the inside by sticking a knife with cloth and "force download" but no luck!! Anything else I can try?? Maybe a DVD rom cleaning disc?? Please help?? As I'm not willing to pay £150

Andy £150+ seems too high for a good clean of lens, what do you do apart from cleaning lens out?? In future what if problem occurs again with same message "DVD disc is reading error" .. (You could get a new DVD rom for £170+)

I used a ruler wrapped in a wet wipe, non fragranced, and stuck it in the cd reader and wiped it using circular motions. You could also try a cleaning cd. The wet wipe method worked for me.
