Unlocking eon 6000 rds radio - ford fiesta?

Ive bought a second hand eon 6000 rds cd/radio - I have the code, but cannot get beyond the display saying 'Locked'.
I've tried pressing 1 & 6, as suggested on another forum, but this has not worked.... any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Turn the radio unit on while holding the "6" preset button. This will give you 3 additional attempts to enter the code.

WARNING: If you enter an invalid code 3 more times, the radio unit will be locked again. In this case you will NOT be able to unlock the radio unit yourself.

get m----- no of set and see if code is right.the older sets needed to flash before code could be entered you left switched on untill this happened if you had 10 goes that were wrong the set locked out and then you had to exchange it
