How to repair a SCHNEIDER DVD857 Player?

The player will happily play photo,audio an mp3 disks but when it trys to play a DVD disk the disk spins it starts to load it then stops and says NO DISK. Apart from that the player seems to work fine. Any ideas anyone?

You've lost the DVD laser. Try a cleaner disc.
