A Jaguar X is a car, so I assume that it's realy an in-car CD, and answer accordingly.
Does it get any power?
Do the power have the correct polarity? Many English cars have inverted polarity, and that can cause some problems if you don't connect things accordingly.
Most car radio, CD and other media players have dual power input.
The main, interupted, power that is used for regular operation, and the secondary, un-interupted, support power needed to keep time and various settings.
You must make sure that both are correctly connected.
