if you remove the air filter,battery and carrier,n/s engine mount then you will reveal the top of the g/box selector housing.press the buttons on the cables to release them,disconnect the reverse light switch and the g/box breather tube.I think there are six 10mm bolts holding the mechanism onto the g/box,undo and lift off,if you look half way down the selector shaft at the mechanism there is a roll pin which are bad for shearing,unfortunately Ford no longer supply this pin and you have to purchase the whole mechanism which is very expensive,I have used a bolt before as a stop gap measure and it must be of high grade steel with a self locking nut and also some loctite wouldn`t do any harm either,another option is to try an engineers for a roll pin,good luck
