We also have a spin problem. The water drains fine, but it will not spin all the time. We open the lid and see that it is not spinning. After closing the lid, the washer starts to spin. We have replaced the lid switch thinking this would solve the issue. We have a kenmore washer model 80

your brushes have worn down thats why it starts and stops replace them there fairly cheap and are situated in the motor
