how do i remove the gear linkage cable from my rwd 56 reg transit?

i canot get the cable off the gearbox. i have poped the ends off but cant get it off the gearbox casein?

it might have two orange pins locating it,these are on a sliding cam and when you twist the cam a quarter turn it lifts the locating pins and the cable should lift out from the bracket,a spray of wd40 may help also
