F & Paykel Excellence 7.5 top-loader. set on Favourites, auto water level, cold wash.
Water does not automatically stop filling and overflows from the top of the machine.
Machine is almost 12 years old, otherwise has worked very well until now.

The air pressure tube may be blocked. Put machine on final spin & press start. Let it run until you are sure all water is out. Stop machine and then turn power off at wall. Open top panel and locate the air tube on the right hand end of the control module. Remove air tube from module and blow down it to clear any obstruction. Put tube back on to module & secure with the clip. Close panel & try a fill. While it is filling do a check on the water inlet valve by pressing pause. Water should stop flowing immediately (no hesitation) If water continuous to flow after pausing machine then replace the inlet valve. Post results back here.
