Power surge knocks out TX 36PB50 is it repairable?

Power surge in the local sub-station tonight. Energy supplier confirms event. The t.v. is 2 years old. Is it repairable or do I need an expert? How much is this going to costs? Does the Energy supplier refund/compenstate in full or at a set limit. EDF energy - Essex

You need to get your complaint in writing to the Electricity supplier asap, with an TV engineers report and estimate to repair. Electricity boards will usually try to deny responsibilty as they get so many claims.

Quality models such as this have much better protection circuits than cheaper TV's, so the damage 'may' be limited.
