faulty timer?

I've got a problem with my Kelvinator KL15TL. Everything on this machine is in workable condition but only for a few minutes before the machine immediately stops. A local technition checked it and according him it's because of the faulty timer and that the machine is of no use any more.....make it sense?

if that machine works fine through the rinses you may have a faulty heating element, otherwise if it has two motors attached to the back of the timer one may be open circuit

No, just get a new timer fitted.
