my Alba tv /dvd combi will not switch on and power light keeps flashing red

Try the Bill Gates solution- Unplug and leave for 4 minutes. Plug in again and you may well find that the remote receiver has unlocked itself and your back in business.......if your lucky!
Also works for Sky Boxes-every time.
