interior light in connect van?

my van does not come with the door opening interior light switch on the inside of the door,there is a rubber gromet in the place of where the switches should be.does anyone elses transit connect van come without this,mine is a 2006 model..

I think these work through the door lock assy,if you remove the door card you will see a big multi plug attached to the lock
