I can't change the settings for my phone,ie adding addititional handsets,call-barring,etc. My base station won't accept the factory-set pin-number(0000),which hasn't been changed.

Eureka!! A friend told me how it was done.
To re-set the base-station pin to (0000),
Unplug the base-station from the mains.
While holding down the page-button,plug the base-station back into the mains.Still holding the page-button down, you will then hear 4 short beeps followed by one long beep.As soon as the long beep has finished release the page-button,then quickly press the page-button 5 times rapid.You will then hear a double tone to confirm completion.
