RENAULT KANGOO kangoo immobiliser light flashing?

RENAULT KANGOO van (2004) DIESEL red light flashing continuously. Holding central locking button down. But the light doesn't stop or slow down. Can't enter 4 digit immobiliser code. Van won't start.
