I have had no problem with the washing machine and i went to start a load today; pulled the button out to start the washer and nothing..

You give precious little information like Make & Model for instance - do any lights show - does water enter the machine - are you confident that it has electrical power and water. ???

From what you say "pulled the button out... and nothing." I would guess an electrical problem - but that's just a wild guess.
