Samsung Galaxy Ace plus is using internet but how?

According to my service provider I was using the internet nearly all morning, for the first hour i was in bed asleep. Can I have something switched on or set that I dont know about.

The simple answer is: yes. Applications can be updating and/or downloading without any intervention from you. You need to find out which ones are set to update/download automatically and then switch that function off.
