Magnets/magnetic fields can cause staining of this type, but is usally - if not always - accompanied with a purple colour too. If the whole screen has gone a consistant green chances are it's not a magnetic problem...it could be that the scart is not correctly connected (can also cause yellow or red picture!) when using SKY, DVD etc. More likely though is that one of the colour 'guns' inside is shot. Get a quote, as fixing it yourself could be troublesome. (If it is magnetic staining you can get it degaussed by a repair man. Also have the auto degauss circuit checked on the TV).

do you have speakers near your tv? if you do try moving them. could also be caused by vcr, sky box or dvd player being too close. the magnets in the other appliances cause the green colour. the colour should come back when you move the offending appliance, turn tv off and back on again.
