Kirby G3 shuts off but if left alone, starts back up on it's own?

My Kirby acts as it if is overheating and shutting down during use. I don't think it is the cord or any of the safety switches because when it dies if you just leave it where it sits it will start back up on it's own.

Like I said, it acts as if it has tripped some sort of protection fuse for overheating or something.

I don't think it is the brushes either because there is no sparking and it runs strong with no odd noises.

I don't know this machine but the general case is...

To stop the motor catching fire they have an overheat cut-out switch.

The motor is cooled with the exhaust air - but it has to be filtered to keep stray dust and dirt out.

Look for the internal filter and clean it.

Good luck
