how to tell which part has failed on Hygena APP2420 cooker hood?

Hygena APP2420 cooker hood extractor fan has failed.
The lights are working ok
Pressed on/off button and the motor tried to run but then failed, repeated pressing the on/off button and the motor tried to run again but failed again. Now nothing happens when pressing the on/off button. There was NO burning smell. Do yoo think it would be the PCB or the motor itself that is faulty and how would you check both before replacing either?

It is assumed that you have power going into the switch, so test with a voltmeter to see if you have got power on the load (fan) side of the switch when in the on position.
If you have the problem lies in the fan
If you haven't got power coming out of the switch-then the switch is your problem.
It is not unusual for steam and grease vapour to mess up the contacts inside these switches
