Zanussi FLE 1115 W washing machines stops mid cycle?

Zanussi FLE 1115 W washing machines stops mid cycle. Draining water switching off and starting again is not working. It is as though it is stuck mid wash and won't reset.

Filters clear, machine very clean and well kept.

Anybody ideas please?

set it to fill on any programme and the turn it off when full, next set it to drain and if it fails it has either a worn pump or a blockage, if everything ok check that the end of the waste pipe is higher in the standpipe than the centre of the drum
