What does Error Code 72 mean for a Zanussi ZWD16270 waher/dryer. The washing machine works but the dryer has failed. The Dryer timer counts down very quickly but the drum does not revolve.

Thanks CK, the wires on the sensor were broken. Some additional information that may assist others that have this issue.

Initially when the wires were reconnected the tumble dryer still did not work and the E72 error code remained. Once we had run a wash cycle and there were damp clothes in the drum the drying cycle began to work correctly and has continued to do so.

on the bottom of the condenser tank is a sensor which the wires break off and cause your problem.making good the connection usually sorts E72 codes.
