not draining ?

my machine wont drain properly i have to pause it and wait ten or so mins and then unpause and repeat to get threw this cycle as it will just stop draing after 20 secs or so once i have completed this four or five times it ok and goes into spin cycle and its fine , top loading fisher and paykel model number gw512

you could also have a coin in the drain hose acting like a butter fly valve,or a sock in the drain hose going to the pump,or a bra wire,in short,it could be lots of things just make sure you remove the power from the machine before you work on it ,if the pump is burned out,you wont need to look at the windings,you will smell it,la nz are a joke

unplug the machine from the mains first,save you killing yourself ,also check the drain hose if it is fitted direct to the drain pipe with a circlip,it may be blocked there

Drain it then tip machine back against wall as far as you can and remove drain pump and see if anything is inside the cavity that will slow down or stop the pump. While it is out check the appearance of the copper wire. It should be an even dark copper colour. If it looks burnt or colour is doubtful then replace it with a new one. Not worth the risk of continuing to run a dodgy drain pump. They will blow the main control board if you do.
