hotpoint ultima wt761 1600 spin?

washer will switch on but stops after some water has gone in and the display is taking longer than should to do the cycle sometimes works and other times won't do anything

Donna, the simplest answer is to send your module (white plastic box in back of machine) to us for test/repair. Our charge for a same-day repair is £65.88 inc return postage or £7.20 if no fault is found. As it sometimes works, would point to control pcb. If it was permanent, would point to heater element. Not sure about model. But could be a relay with dirty contacts, But not sure as to which relay, So look at all the relays, any that show signs of burn, discolouration of casing, You would need to, After unplugging, look at each relays contacts. If badly burnt, would need to be replaced, but slight, could clean with some fine wet/dry paper.
