How can I fix my Hitachi Digital TV recorder model HDR255 ?

I have a Hitachi Digital TV recorder model HDR255 which is frozen and wont respond to the remote or the on/off button. When I unplug then replug it, the display reads "Loading" then freezes at "0000". Is it fixable?
