The rinse cycle starts normally but within 1 minute the indicator lamp starts flashing the machine stops, sounds the end of programme sound and indicates it has finished. The rinse indicator remains flashing. Any ideas? The machine is a Miele WT945; it is 14 years old and works quite hard!

Rinse light flashing on a Miele and program abort is a built in diagnostic indicator. It means there is a fault with the motor circuit usually carbon brushes worn out, although this should happen at the start of the wash cycle. Cheers

it may be the rinse solenoid valve going open circuit as it fills, a meter would be needed to check the coil
