heat exchanger replacement?

how do i replace the heat exchanger on my halstead quattro gold and do i have to be gas safe to do this

Kash - I agree with you entirely - the regulations require that a person be competent. A competent householder need not be registered - the test for a householder is competence not registration.

those that are not employed must be competent. those that are employed must be competent and registered. so u must fit into one of these to do gas work

The word "employed" is teeming with hidden meaning -it suggests to me that the regulation does not apply to a private person doing unpaid work on their own behalf.

no provided its the dhw heat exchanger and not the one in the combustion chamber as there are two. u only need to be gas safe to work on the gas pipe, gas valve and any item inside the combustion chamber and the dhw heat exchanger is not inside the combustion chamber. so u good to go. here is a link open it up go to page 24 section 9.13 its there how to do it gl.
