How can I fix the feed dog on my Toyota 2400DX?

Hi, my Toyota 2400DX sewing machine has recently stopped feeding the material through properly and I now have to tug the material to get it to sew. The drop feed lever is jammed and I can't budge it but it is set in the correct position although the feed dog is only moving backwards and forwards and NOT actually dropping down to release the material. In essence, if I didn't tug the material to move it, the needle would just stitch in place and make a real mess!! Is this fixable or am I needing to look for a new machine? Thanks, Lisa.

not so easy to give good advice without looking at machine as the problem good be anywhere, suggest you open machine and lubricate properly and also inspect drive gears and lobe that drive and move feed dog, could also be broken feeddog attachment point as some tend to crack and then give way when material is feed across, inspect real close.listening to your saying feed dog does not move down i think it could be loose or broken or if you lucky just need lubrication, also check for spring suppose to pull it down
