PS. The contrast in the Picture Menu on the SKY box, I mean as opposed to TV contrast, although either may have some effect on caption buzz.

Long shot.....

Is the contrast set High in the picture menu?
If so try turning it to Low, Sky tend to overmodulate their signal which can result in caption buzz and distorted verticals.

If the buzz is only on RF (aerial connection), ie. via a TV channel number, rather than AV.. you may have a fault in the Sky box RF modulator.

You could try retuning the RF output, which is in a hidden Sky menu, selectable via the remote code 0, 1, Select.. from Services Menu. You would then of course need to retune your TV Sky channel to the new RF Ch. No. Usually 68 is the recommended CH. although anywhere between 21 & 68 is usable.

If using AV Scart connection only, try a new cable and ensure it is secure at both ends.

Yes through the tv speakers. The buzzing only happens when sky is selected and it plays the buzzing noise through the speakers. I connect from the sky box to the TV with antenna and AV input.

Does it come from the decoder box itself, or through the TV speakers?

If from the box itself, does it happen only when Sky is selected or whenever the box is on? If from the TV, do you connect from Sky box to TV via the antenna cable or via AV input?

I assume you are in UK??
