I put a load of washing into my machine and shut the door, switched it on, picked a cycle and then pressed the start/pause button. And nothing happened. So I pressed it again and again incase it was on pause, still nothing happening. usually works perfectly never had issues before. The electrics are working because the lights are on, checked plug, fuses, circuit board, it doesn't start a cycle and lock the door. Please can anyone help me with what to do?

I have a Hoover 700 lc top loader washing machine. It fills with water to the correct level and stops the water entering the machine but then does not agitate in the wash cycle but the timer advances.
I have changed the timer with the same result and the water level switch is OK because I am getting power to contact NO when the machine is filled with water.

most likely the door interlock is faulty
