blocked manifold/pressure switch chamber can cause this issue also.flat out spin then stop can also be to do with a loose tacho on the back of the motor casing

Paul, does it try to spin and then just switch off ? If so, it probably has the timer unit 513296 or 513316 fitted (numbers on label on the side of the timer). We stock it at £59.88 (exchange). have you cleaned the filter area out recently and have you checked the motor brushes?.10mm of carbon or less is worn out and needs replacing
