THe door closes on the washing machine but the door locked light is still flashing and the machine will not start the cycle.

Paul, this is a very common fault. The door lock has shorted and damaged the main electronic module. We stock the module at £46.88 + £6 post (exchange) but you would also need to change the door lock, which we do not stock.
