Locked radio code?

My car radio is stuck on 3safe ( was 7Safe but will sometime let me put in the code when I do a long journey bringing it down by 1 each time)
How can I unlock it. the local vauxhall dealers said they couldnt help me when it was on 7safe!!

if im right you have to leave it turned on for at least an hour to reset to enter code
