I have on old wall clock that looks like a Railway clock. It has been overwound and I would like to find a way to fix it.

Next to the gear that with the spring unit, there wil be a latch, put some pressure on the winder, will allow you to move the latch and wind it down, DO not just let it go, hold the winder very tight while you allow it to unwind, if it is just over wound, 1/2 turn back should be enough, still not going, could need a clean and oil.
