Sky+ Remote. Certain buttons not working?

Hi,

This may have already been posted and if so I apologise or if this is in the wrong category. This is a problem with a sky+ remote. The directional arrows are only working in TV guide mode. The select, the info button and the record buttons are not working at all. The red light on the remote is blinking when any of the buttons are pressed. I have tried advice such as changing the batteries and holding the select button for 60 seconds. I have tried holding select and the blue button simultaneously. This problem just occured out of the blue and as far as I'm aware no one was messing around with the settings. Could anyone give me some more advise as I am not very technically minded and it's hugely frustrating? Thank you so much for your help.

Mine did that. A certain person decided to get his own back for not being allowed to watch a certain program and dropped the remote into some water for a few seconds, then dryed it off.
The remote continues to work normally for a few days then progressively goes haywire. The culprit can be identified by the giggles!
To dismantle and dry out to restore to full working operation try this:
Remove batteries
Grip the black pastic end cap with thumb and forefinger and pull the cap off. behind it you will see a screw.
Undo this screw and also the two screws in the back.
The two halves will now seperate.
Undo the small securing screws holding the circuit board and seperate.
Unclip the rubber button template.
The remote is now fully disassembled
Put everything on kitchen tissue paper and place in a warm place for at least 24 hours.
Now reverse the process and re-assemble.
Re insert the batteries and reprogramme the remote with your tv code.
