lazy boy recliner repair?

when I open the chair to recline it does that, but it rocks. I believe there is a piece under the chair, which I can see, has moved from its spot. It is a peg that was in a hole on the wood and it also needs to be screwed in, but I am unable to get the peg in the hole to be able to secure it. I am hopeful once that is fixed, the chair will not rock.

I had this problem with a La-Z-Boy recliner. The peg was actually broken although it looked like it had just worked loose. I had to drill it out, put in a new peg (using wood glue) and all was well - until the wood that held the peg split about a year later.
