Camcorder Sony DCR-SR190 problem - access light flashes red?

I have a camcorder Sony DCR-SR190 that I've got problems with. Namely, the "Access"-light flashes red when trying to take photos for example. Also the LCD screen is black but does respond to touch with sound.

This results in the main problem me not being able to transfer the recorded data to my PC, since the computer doesn't see the camcorder when connected.

I've read online that a lot of people have problems with the flex band on camcorders like mine, and their screens go black. But I've failed to find somebody with this Access-light flashing red.

Anybody that knows what exactly that red flashing Access-light means, combined with the black screen, and perhaps how to fix it?
