pioneer pl 320 tone arm?

The very fine wiring in the tone arm, starting at the socket where the stylus plugs into is is faulty somewhere between this start point and the PC board undrneath. Is there a known way to replace this wiring? Clearly, the easy solution would be a new or replacement tone arm. Any suggestions welcomed Offers to supply suitable parts welcomed.

Hi and thank you Pecavvi, I have appropriate tools and a background in electronics or would never have located the problem nor started the repair. My real problem is that the cartridge socket is at the end of the hollow tube tone arm and I do not know how to safely remove it without damage. My fear is that unless I rewire from that socket, it will not be a reliable repair. That's why I remain hopeful that someone has a suitable tone arm from a scrapped player that is available. My next option is to sell mine as parts and put that cash toward replacing it.

You can buy tone arm wire - very light - only a few strands of copper. You can buy a soldering iron - at my age I might use a watchmaker's eye glass.

Tweezers would be useful.

In The UK Amazon sell a rewiring kit for £25 + £3 postage - somewhat expensive for a few feet of wire.

If you're a beginner at soldering then practice first - the common mistake all beginners make is too much solder and not enough heat.
