Hi,I have just purchased a 2006 ford transit connect T230 L Tdci when starting the engine (ie cold)it has a loudish knocking noise, as soon as the engine is warm this disappears,it runs and pulls well.I have been told this is excessive fuel being forced through the pump and is normal,is this true,or do I have a problem ?

I would first check all your heater plugs are functioning ok
