This may be a silly question but is the paper you are trying to print on too thick for the printer. Is it a flat bed printer or roller type? In other words do you load the paper in the top and it comes out the front? if so this is a flat bed. If the paper is loaded into a tray, usually slid in from the front, this is a roller type. If the paper is the right thickness then the rollers may be dirty and not gripping the paper to feed it through. Is the printer very old and what make is it?
