outside of tank where water line hooks to is the fill tube in side tank.depending on style u have how it works. if u have hard water the fill vale is probably just limed up causing no movement in fill tube .some can b cleaned, by shutting off water supply and disassembling water fill tube and cleaning out lime deposit or whatever is clogging it. float may b sticking for same reason if u have a slide float. if ball and rod style system maybe the ball is out of adjustment. can b turned both ways to raise or lower water level in tank.push ball down and water should run from fill tube.if not tube is limed up ,clogged.try cleaning or replace fill tube cheap easy fix . dirrections an new part.
