It's absolutely, uterly impossible to delete Internet explorer. It's to deeply intertwined with Windows. The most you can do is to delete it's shortcut, removing it's icon from the desktop.
There are a few extra shortcuts around. You can copy one to the desktop.
You can make a new shortcut manualy if you want or can't find the others.
Right-click an empty area of the desktop.
Sellect: New | Shortcut...
A new, un-named icon appears. Also, you should get a shortcut creation dialog.
In "Location", enter "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
If Windows is not installed on the C:\ drive, change the drive letter accordingly.
Click "Next"
Change the name for "Internet Explorer"
Click "Finish"
