Hya sharon- 1) first measure the window to be replaced before doing anything. Upvc windows secure the glass to the frame with the black rubber gasket 2) remove the inner gasket all round the frame. 3) push the frame from the outside. Inwards-this releases the pressure of the outside beads-remove the outer beads and rubber gasket 4) remove window and replace refit gasket and beads. Tip -A good idea is to video every stage with you mobile phone camera for reference and refit p.s. The gap size + width and hieght usully in 4 mm clear or obscure float glass..###warning### wear gloves when removing glass . If the window is upstairs or the pane is big and heavy-please geta pro to fit-good luck-powerfulheart
