my proline w76s start screen appears but only gives me options to lock or put in new password but there is no password on the laptop then it will suddenly give me a blue screen with the cursor.

Normaly, the blue screen have rather cryptic debugging information in white on blue and no cursor.

Try starting in safe mode.

Try reverting to a previous restore point.

DON'T even think about a factory restore if you have ANY files that are not backed up to some external devices.

Try reinstalling or updating your video drivers.

Get and run some memory/RAM test. If there are any error, replace the deffective RAM modul.
