kitchen extractor fan has stopped working?

Hi, when I opened the hood there was a small flash of light (we don't switch the fan off after using but close the hood to stop the fan) and then I tried the switches and the fan didn't start up. Any ideas what the problem might be and how to fix it? Thank you

check the bulbs,common fault it blows and takes the fuse in the plug or spur unit

The flash of light was probably something shorting out and it will have blown the fuse either in the plug head or the spur unit that feeds the cooker hood, you really need to get someone in to check it out
