E1 message will not go away after pressing 'clear'?

We have a Samsung ER 4615 and it has come up with a E1 message when we try and do the X and Z subtotals - pressing the clear button does not solve the problem

Does it work normally in REG mode when making sales? What are you pressing in X/Z mode to print the report?
