Electolux has no power after lightning strike?

My Electrolux dishwasher stopped working after a lightning strike. Asked a local technician to look at it and he said it would cost $500 to fix to "change electrical parts." Can this be possibly something like changing a circuit board, a fuse, or something a non-technical person can do? Or, can it really be worse and only a technician can do that? For that price we can almost buy a new machine.

very hard to say what needs replacing if hit by lightening.check for mains supply to the main pcb using a multimeter.if that is OK suspect pcb blown at the least
