How can I damproof in garage?

I have rain coming in through floor of garage when it rains heavily, help. I have tried waterproofing fillers but not working.

The garage ground floor level is lower than the pathway adjacent to the outer wall. We think the damp proof course (just over a metre in length) is damaged. Is there a way of doing it yourself or should you call in a builder for this job.

Is the water coming in from the roof area or from the bottom of the garage, clear any soil or debris from the outer walls of the garage and see if the pointing is sound(the cement between the bricks)any small hole will let the water in,also anything leant against the outer garage wall ie plant pots/barbeque will cause damptness, bricks are sponges, the wind and air flow keep them dry, dont let anything stay in conntact with the outside walls. If it is the roof you have a different problem,do you have gutters?
