How to diagnose a broken dishwasher that's discontinued?

My tabletop dishwasher by JDW (DW009) has stopped finishing a cycle, regardless of which program I out it on about 15 mins in it partially drains and then the program light moves to the light wash cycle and flashes repeatedly, I'm unable to reset via button, and switching off at socket and manually restarting the program makes no difference.
The brand no longer exists and I've trawled the net for instructions to no avail. Any ideas on how to diagnose what's wrong with it?
I'm fairly apt at repairing things but this is beyond me.
I suspect the heater needs replacing as water does not gt heated but don't want to replace it (if I work out how to find it buried in the unit) for an additional part like the pump to also need replacing.
Do I just scrap it? Or is it easier that I think? Google and YouTube are not helping :(

you can test the element wth a multimeter set to ohms.no need to think it might be faulty.test it and prove it is faulty.usually top and base unscrew to reveal the whole unit/parts inside

better to scrap it friend, cost to much to repair the heater is either in the sump or in the sump hose these units are a waste of time ,up in here in Glasgow currys was selling one for £130.00 cheap junk, buy a pair of marygolds or get ur girlfriend to wash dishes :-)
